2 Ingredient Naan Bread
You’re second to Naan.
After finding a new Indian grocery store when going on a walk with hubby a few weeks ago, and ending up buying lots of various fun ingredients and Indian products I had never tried out before, I’m hooked. I love Indian food and the whole food culture, and lately I’ve been trying out new recipes and making so much deliciousness in my kitchen! It’s not that I haven’t eaten Indian food before, but it’s not the food culture I’m most used to. I had not, before this, ever made genuin, legit, Indian food and I’ve learned that it’s so amazing and actually not difficult to make either!
So today, I’m going to teach you how to make the most known Indian bread ever - Naan bread!
What is Naan Bread?
So what is naan bread? Naan bread is a traditional Indian bread that is traditionally baked in a tandoor. The Naan bread is flat, approx 1 cm thick only, and is either oval or round shaped. I unfortunately don’t have access to a tandoor oven where we can bake the bread over open fire, but I will teach you how to make naan bread in a very simple way using an ordinary frying pan instead!
I am serving my bread with garlic butter, herbs and sea salt and that take the bread to a-whole-new-leveeeel! You better serve it like this. Do yourself the honor!

Naan Bread
4 naan bread
INGREDIENTS:
250 g Turkish/Greek Yoghurt
250 g all-round wheat flour OR self rising flour
possibly a pinch of salt
+ Garlic butter and sea salt
HOW TO MAKE:
Combine the yoghurt and the flour together in a bowl thoroughly, preferably using a wooden spoon.
When a dough has been created you can start needing the dough with your hands for a fe minutes making the dough elastic.
Place the dough in a bowl and cover the bowl with a kitchen towel. Place the bowl in a warm place and let the dough rise for 1-2 hours (2-3 hours works fine too).
Cut the dough into 4 pieces and use a rollin pin to roll out the dough until flat.
Heat up a frying pan and melt the butter thoroughly. Place the flat dough, one at a time, into the pan and fry on one side until bubbles have appeared on the surface. Then flip the bread and fry on the other side.
Serve straight away while being warm, preferably with garlic butter (combine soft butter with garlic) and sea salt.
