Porridge with Caramelized Milk, Caramelized Fried Banana and Salted Peanuts

Making your food caramelized is like adding gold and sparkle to your food.

God morning weekend! I love mornings. I think it’s a very important time of the day, to set the energy for the day, and I hate being distracted with negative energy in the morning. Do you agree? Breakfast is one of the most important parts of the morning, and I think it’s therefore important to never underestimate or be careless with breakfast.

Today I made a luxurious porridge with caramelized milk (which kind of tastes like condensed milk), caramelized fried banana, slated peanuts and a big spoon of creamy peanut butter. Yum yum!

The caramelized milk is just a simply way of making your ordinary milk “EXTRA”. I gets a sweeter caramel flavor which suits fantastic over your porridge. The caramelized bananas are, in the same way, just a great and simple way of making your ordinary banana a lot more “EXTRA”. The fried banana can be served over porridge, smoothie or even with ice cream.

Caramelized milk and caramelized fried banana

The garnishing for an optional simple oatmeal

INGREDIENTS:

1 organic banana

approx 1 tbsp agave syrup or honey

a little bit of coconut oil for frying

a little bit of cinnamon

1 dl 3% gluten free oat milk

1 tsp agave syrup or honey

a pinch of real vanilla powder

HOW TO MAKE:

  • Caramelized fried banana: slice your banana in two halves legnthwise. Powder some cinnamon on top and ripple over som agave syrup or honey.  Heat coconut oil in a frying pan and fry your banana soft and golden brown, max 1' on each side. Done!

  • Caramelized milk: heat your milk. Add the agave syrup/ honey and a little bit of vanilla powder and stir around until melted.

  • Serve your milk and banana over your porridge, preferable with peanuts and peanut butter (sweet + salty is a very nice combination!).
